SCREENS AND PAGES
This project started out as a language study, specifically, what does identity mean and how is it formed? A defining question to be considered was whether identities are being formed in a different way now than they have been in the past; in times of new technologies, methods of communication and knowledge sharing.
Interlude occupies the spaces of the aimless wanderers and waiters, conducting neither work nor play, either in dynamic flow or tedious crawl. This is when subconscious communication often supplants the deliberate.
DIGITAL / PHYSICAL: PLAY
A collaborative exhibition between Sennep, Mother and Winchester School of Art. Featured project - Interlude. Design - Studio 3015.
Parallels between today’s political climate and Orwell's ‘1984’ are easy to draw. Particularly, the dystopian concepts of history erasure and manipulation of language with political motive. In this fictional work, it is the notion of a dictionary that gets smaller with each edition.
ANATOMY OF A VOICE
This self-directed project began with an image, and an interest in the subtle and often incidental nature of a voice. This image became a symbol, and a tool of expression.
LEBOWSKI, THE BIG.
Ignore plot, there are only words. Even the Coen brothers themselves have acknowledged that when it comes to The Big Lebowski, what’s actually going on is unimportant. That’s not what makes a cult classic, it’s those quotes, the way the characters interact.
Could Archigram’s experimental modular city ever have been the Utopia that its designers imagined? This is a plan for an exhibition exploring what it was that confined this city to paper, locked in ideas and sketches, never realised in material form.
AGE OF ANXIETY
A typographic workshop exploring the ideas that shaped our world, and the speeches that expressed them. Techniques for dynamic type involved exploring analog methods of cut and paste, playing with order and chaos, and time constraints for instinctive work.
